1. Who We Are
This website, tmgreen.uk ("the Site"), is operated by T.M. Green ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the personal data we collect through the Site.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at contact@tmgreen.uk.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect different types of data depending on how you interact with the Site:
Contact form submissions -- if you contact us through the Site, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Newsletter subscriptions -- if you subscribe to the Pigeon Wire newsletter, we collect your email address.
Technical data -- our hosting provider automatically collects standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visited. To protect the contact form from abuse, submission IP addresses are also held briefly (up to one hour) in server memory for rate limiting; they are never written to any permanent store.
3. How We Use Your Data
We do not request or retain your personal data beyond what you choose to submit -- your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter, and your name, email address, and message if you contact us directly.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests -- analysing readership data helps us improve our content and the Site. We have assessed that this processing does not override your rights and freedoms.
- Consent -- where you subscribe to the Pigeon Wire newsletter, we process your email address on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
- Legal obligation -- we may process data where required to comply with a legal obligation, such as responding to a lawful request from a public authority.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each of which may process personal data on our behalf:
- Vercel -- website hosting and analytics. Vercel processes server logs that may contain your IP address and browser information. We also use Vercel's privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate readership; it does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and cannot identify individual visitors. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
- MailerLite -- newsletter delivery. When you subscribe to the Pigeon Wire newsletter, your email address is shared with MailerLite to manage your subscription and send newsletter emails. See MailerLite's Privacy Policy.
We do not use cross-site tracking analytics such as Google Analytics, and no advertising or social-media trackers of any kind are present on the Site. Every resource the Site loads -- including fonts -- is served from our own hosting; your browser makes no requests to any other third party while you browse.
When you buy one of our books, the purchase takes place on a third-party platform (such as Payhip or Amazon) under that platform's own privacy policy. The Site shares no data with those platforms; following a purchase link is the same as visiting any external website.
6. Cookies
We do not use cookies of any kind.
7. Data Retention
Server logs are retained by our hosting provider in accordance with their own retention policies.
8. Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Access -- you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification -- you may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure -- you may ask us to delete your personal data, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it.
- Restriction of processing -- you may ask us to restrict how we process your data in certain circumstances.
- Data portability -- you may request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Objection -- you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
The only information we hold about you is your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter or if you contact us directly. If you wish to have this removed, please contact us at contact@tmgreen.uk.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Where we make material changes that affect how we process your data, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the Site.
10. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at contact@tmgreen.uk.
